It refers to law and marriage, not to people, though it is people driving the relationship. Marriage is an institution but has the law as partner. What changes have both experienced! Once marriage was a true commitment for better or worse. Mind you, there is no good to it when it forces you to hold in honor which is not honorable at all. But in our times, marriage is nothing but big business, a party and commodity, which is disposed off, when it served its interest and, novelty has become stale. And what happened to its partner, the law? All the same! Laws are nothing enduring, nothing reliable, nor beneficial to the ones of sound character. It is self-serving, gets changed at the whim of politician, who want to protect themselves from persecution after all the damage they caused. There is no justice in the law, no pleasure for the common person, no security, nor protection. No! This marriage is not working at all. But big money is spent on the "0ne Most Important Day", as women still seem to want it to be, though honestly, nobody really believes in the institution. The few exceptions holding up the worthy ideas of love and life sharing ideals, they exist, but are so rare, that you may never encounter any couple that lives by it. Well, decay is everywhere. The rot festers in civilization's basements and walls and sadly in people's soul. Still surprised that everyone and everything suffers? The only reasonable action is, and nature does it anyway, to burn it all off, so something better can grow again (if there is anything left and has still a chance).
