Finally! After all these locally brainless disorganised management of the apparently so deadly Corona Virus (apparently deadly, because if it were, most of us would be dead by now), there is an interesting analysis and comparison available on public information sites as to why some countries were able to control the spread of the virus and which were not. It is also interesting to see which countries these are. Now what it boils down to is that these countries immediately closed their borders, did not let anyone in who came from suspected hot spot areas and did vigorous testing for the virus on all who were allowed to cross the boarder and all who were suspected to have been in contact with anyone slightly close to suspicion of having had contact with anyone possibly being infected. And then all, who were testing positiv and their immediate contacts were strictly quarantined. Halleluja! That is what I call purposeful action! That is how you flatten a curve! Such government actions are sure the best way to go. Did these countries actually have to bring their everyday life to its knees? No! And yes there were and are restrictions in place but where it is necessary, not just in a sweeping manner without targeting and for all that go about their usual business.
Now what did Scott, the Moron and his government do? He evacuated people from the hot spot Wuhan, which was totally unnecessary and counterproductive, left all borders open to flights, ships from anywhere, no testing for arrivals, except they showed symptoms, only obligating them to a quarantine later, as the concern rose about importing the virus. But as the imported virus spread, testing still is limited. Anyone who does not meet the criteria of having symptoms a n d having been in contact with an infected person has no test, even when they have signs of an influenza like illness, fall into the risk group of elderly patient and have a pre-existing lung condition (personal case known to me). Symptoms alone are not enough to get you tested! The government put measures in place without an effective strategy or future vision, which actually are required to "flatten the infection curve". And Scott, the Moron rambles on about how dangerous the virus is. But the danger lies with the health care system unable to cope with an increased number of ill patients, being out of seams at the best of time. Then he implements orders that shut down the economy, because he wants to prevent people from getting sick and, pumps tax payers' money into relief packages to help the looming depression if not recession of the economy. But these relief packages don't help the people immediately suffering the economic pain. They are left to look how to survive by whatever means. Of course, Centrelink will have to assist, but lining up at their offices is not permitted (sozial distancing!) and, their website cannot cope with the demand, crashing and leaving the already stressed in more stress and uncertainty.
While all this money spent and wasted now, it will however have to be regained. How? Well, the government is already looking and you guessed it, at short term solutions again, giving green light to fuel project that were put on hold due to public pressure. Scott, the Moron, earns this name for sure, making him and his government plainly incompetent and definitely a danger for the country, more than one can say about the Corona virus, which at 80% of infected people having mild symptoms is sure not that dangerous. Of course, it would be wrong not to be alert and cautious, when a new virus appears. Precaution is good ! Kneejerk reactions aren't!
